A: After the deflected dorsal segment of the septum is separated vertically from the remainder of the septum, a 3.0-mm Skeeter drill is used to create two small holes in the nasal bone on the side opposite the direction of the deflection. B: The ends of the separated septum are sutured into position with a horizontal mattress suture that is passed through the holes in the nasal bones. A unilateral spreader graft is then placed tc provide additional support.

Comparison of Suture and vertical dome division techniques of bulbous nose refinement
Objective:In this study, we assess long-term effects of vertical dome division (V.D.D) and Suture techniques in patients with bulbous nose deformity and then compare the efficiency of these methods. Material and Methods: In this study 70 patients with bulbous nose deformity were divided into two equal groups of A and B in which group A with suture (transdomal and interdomal) technique and grou...

On the other hand, it is not uncommon to see patients seeking nasal surgery for only a minimal hump deformity combined with an underrotated, underprojecting tip, which does not necessarily require all components of r...
متن کاملNew techniques for management of the crooked nose.
The crooked or twisted nose results from a complex deformity of the bony pyramid, the upper and lower cartilaginous vaults, and the septum and causes functional and aesthetic problems. The forces of scar contracture coupled with long-standing cartilage deformation may make the crooked nose resistant to conventional surgical intervention. The middle vault of the nose may exhibit deformities that...
متن کاملRepositioning of the lower lateral cartilage in primary cleft nasoplasty: utilization of a modified Tajima technique.
Repositioning the lower lateral cartilages during primary cleft nose repair often requires external bolsters to place suspension sutures. We describe a series of primary unilateral cleft nasal repairs using a modified Tajima technique. The cleft-side lower lateral cartilage is suspended to the contralateral upper lateral cartilage using a buried polydioxanone suture passed through a reverse-U i...
